ADVENTURE AWAITS, EXPLORERS!

Explore. Discover. Read.

The Reading Lodge is a physical destination designed entirely around the experience of learning to read. The space is intentionally crafted to feel like a mountain lodge — warm, inviting, tactile, and completely screen-free. Young readers, known as "Explorers," are children ages 4–6 who begin their literacy journey in an environment created to spark curiosity, imagination, and a love of reading.

SEVEN LEVELS TO SUCCESS

THE ASCENT

Teachers serve as Guides, leading young Explorers through an immersive reading journey. Their path — called The Ascent — unfolds across seven stages over 25 weeks, with each stage introducing a new set of letter sounds and literacy skills. Along the way, Explorers celebrate milestones by earning collectible patches that mark their progress and achievements. To make the adventure feel tangible from day one, every Explorer receives a backpack and water bottle, equipping them for the journey ahead.

Our Curriculum

Backed by Jolly Phonics

The Reading Lodge uses a curriculum called Jolly Phonics, one of the most widely used synthetic phonics programs in the world, backed by a strong research base. The way it works in practice may surprise you: this does not look like a classroom. There are no rows of desks, no sitting still and listening. Children learn each letter sound through a dedicated action and song, so when a new sound is introduced, children are on their feet, moving their bodies, singing together, and having fun. The experience is genuinely joyful.

PROGRAM OUTCOME

HANDS-ON LEARNING

Learning happens through stories, games, and hands-on materials, and the energy in a Jolly Phonics session tends to look more like play than instruction. At the same time, the learning is systematic and structured: over 14 weeks, children work through all 42 letter sounds that form the foundation of the English language. By the end of the program, children can identify and produce each of those sounds, blend sounds together to read new words independently, and begin writing words from memory. These are the core skills that determine whether a child becomes a confident reader.
